The 1st SM Bowling Junior Cup was held to serve as a culminating activity for our 2015 Summer Learn-To-Strike Program and to showcase the talent of our youth bowlers across the archipelago. It is the 1st ever youth tournament that was hosted by the SM Lifestyle and Entertainment Inc. (SMLEI) and SM Bowling and Leisure Center. There were two divisions namely Novice Masters and Junior Masters. The tournament boasts of giving out the biggest prize in any youth tournament giving away Php 50,000 to the Grand Champion. Novice Masters Division There were a total of 71 enrollments during the offering of our Learn-To-Strike program. Out of the 69 enrollees, there were 27 new bowlers who confirmed their participation in the Novice Masters Finals. And out of the 27 bowlers who confirmed, 21 bowlers showed action in the finals held on May 30, 2015 at SM Bowling and Leisure Center North EDSA.
The winners are Johnmir Dimas(1047 points) who took home the championship, Kent Allen Chong(994 points) and Juan Benjamin Calumpong(948 points) who won 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Junior Masters Division There were 30 bowlers who confirmed their participation in the Junior Masters Finals, out of the 30, 24 bowlers showed action in the finals held on May 31, 2015 at SM Bowling and Leisure Center North EDSA.
After the elimination round out of the 24 only 8 remained to advance to the knock-out matches. After the knock out matches a 2 game final series was played between Art Barrientos and Dale Lazo to determine the champion and after the dust settled Art Barrientos emerged as the champion, Dale Lazo and Kevin Kristoffer Peig won 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
